This was a teaching day which brought together all the pupils of Dr Darina Krastinova, Departmental Head at the Foch Hospital in Paris.
Everyone spoke about their specialism and their work. I described all the operations that I perform in Lyon and Geneva: body lift, buttock lift, liposuction, inner thigh lift, abdominoplasty, armplasty, skin removal after massive weight loss and body remodelling, back lift, surgery after gastric band surgery, surgery after weight loss, obesity surgery, arm and breast lifts.
I gave a presentation entitled “haute couture” in which I explained how we can cut down the “clothing” that is our skin when it has become too large, either as a result of ageing or significant weight loss.
This surgery and haute couture have many points in common. My daughter, who works in fashion, drew my attention to this point.
The 3 conditions that are essential for work to be considered “haute couture” are: handmade, unique items, French.
They are perfectly combined in the surgery that I perform.
