This is one of the plastic surgery operations that I perform more rarely, as the vertical scar is very visible.

Indication:

This abdominal surgery is especially performed following obesity, as there is an excess width of skin, like a garment that is too wide.

Treatment:

For this abdominoplasty, I remove an elliptical area of skin in the vertical axis.
Of course, if needed, I also repair the muscles and use liposuction to remove excess fat.

Combination of operations:

This technique can be combined with many other plastic surgery procedures such as buttock lifts, thigh lifts or breast surgery.

In conclusion:

In the end, vertical abdominoplasty is a more minor operation than horizontal abdominoplasty as there is no detachment of tissue.

The results:

Case No. 1

Reconstructive surgery after a gastric bypass. The very substantial amount of excess skin necessitated width-wise and lengthwise abdominoplasty.

Case No. 2

Reconstructive surgery after gastric sleeve surgery. The very substantial amount of excess skin necessitated width-wise and lengthwise abdominoplasty.

Case No. 3

Male vertical abdominoplasty. Small cicatricial expansion at the top of the scar.
