This is one of the operations that I perform the most often. There is effectively considerable demand because of pregnancies and the results of obesity.
The term “abdominoplasty” in fact covers several different operations, the ultimate aim of which is to produce a flat stomach.
In association with my friend Dr LE LOUARN from Paris, I have invented a technique that has now been recognised and used by all other surgeons around the world. In short, this technique makes it possible to pull on the skin more efficiently (to prevent the bulge that often remains under the breasts) and to eliminate any complications. This operation’s poor reputation is thus no longer justified.
3 structures can be damaged, resulting in an unattractive abdominal volume:
– The muscles can be distended. They thus need to be re-tightened.
– There may be excess fat. It thus needs to be aspirated.
– Finally, the skin can be distended. It thus needs to be re-tightened.
It is the re-tightening that results in a scar hidden below, where the underwear is. In certain cases, a simple liposuction can be enough when there is just a small, round stomach.
In the end, it is a relatively major operation, with a period of sick leave of around 1 month, except in the case of simple liposuction (with sick leave of only 2 to 3 days).
This is a very common case following pregnancy. The 3 elements were repaired. The scar is of good quality, situated low down and thus easy to conceal with underwear.
Following major weight loss. I also performed a liposuction on the hips and thighs, which further enhanced the result.
uscle repair was the key to the result here.
